Re-Weaving Education to Meet the Demands of the 21st Century: AFIDEP at 3rd International Conference on Education

The Department of Educational Management, Policy and Curriculum Studies at the Kenyatta University, in Kenya, is hosting the 3rd International Conference with the theme ‘Re-Weaving Education to Meet the Demands of the 21st Century’, from 19-21 September 2018.

Attending the conference as a keynote speaker at the conference opening on 19 September 2018 is AFIDEP’s Executive Director, Dr. Eliya Zulu who will speak on the role of evidence in formulation and implementation of education reforms. Other keynote speakers include Prof. Chacha Nyaigoti Chacha, the Chairman, Kenya Commission for University Education who will speak on education reforms and governance. The guest of honour is Prof. Paul K. Wainaina, the Vice Chancellor, Kenyatta University.

The conference brings together leading academic scientists, researchers and scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on education. The conference provides an interdisciplinary platform for policymakers, top managers, researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, reforms, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the field of education. Themes for the conference revolve around educational leadership and management, research and policy matters, as well as internationalisation.

This highly interactive event provides a platform for stakeholders to share knowledge and information on the issues currently affecting education. It will also provide an opportunity for stakeholders to interrogate recent and ongoing reforms in education in many countries on the continent.
