Event Date: 4 - 8 Apr 2016
Event Location: Cameroon

A team from AFIDEP is currently in Cameroon on a scoping mission on the status of its demographic dividend in an exercise running between 4th and 8th April 2016. The aim of this mission is to work with the Government of Cameroon and critical UN agencies in taking stock of what has been done on the demographic dividend and to help define the course of action the country should take to further secure high-level political will and commitment to harness the demographic dividend.

The AFIDEP team will then work with the Government of Cameroon and key stakeholders to refine and operationalise the country’s demographic dividend roadmap that has already been developed. Dr Eliya Zulu, AFIDEP’s Executive Director is leading the mission and is accompanied by Dr Bernard Onyango, Knowledge Translation Scientist and the Manager of AFIDEP’s Demographic Dividend Programme. The team shall meet various stakeholders including policymakers, researchers and the Cameroonian political leadership.
