Policy Engagement and Evidence Uptake for Early Career Researchers

The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) together with the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) staff will conduct two training workshops for up to 20 fellows per workshop (total 40 fellows) for DELTAS Africa targeting PhD and post-doctoral early career researchers as well as consortium leaders or senior researchers who are responsible for leading research uptake.

The training workshops, ENHD 101: Policy Engagement and Evidence Uptake for Early Career Researchers and ENHD 102: Enhancing Institutional Capacity for Policy Engagement and Evidence Uptake will emphasise skills of individuals to maximise research uptake and policy engagement.

The ENHD 101: Policy Engagement and Evidence Uptake for Early Career Researchers is a 5-day virtual workshop seeking to advance fellow’s ability to:

  1. Understand and describe the importance of EIDM for better health policies and programmes
  2. Understand the complexities of the policymaking processes
  3. Develop a Policy Engagement Strategy for their research
  4. Summarise their research into policy briefs and blogs for a non-academic audience.
