Achieving and sustaining evidence-informed policy-making: Effective communication and collaboration can go a long way

Increasingly, decision-makers are recognising the value of evidence in formulating sound and sustainable policies. More researchers have also become concerned with ensuring that their evidence reaches policy-makers. It is emerging that researchers and policymakers do not speak to each other as much as they should. This commentary shares examples of how population researchers and communications experts have collaborated to overcome the research-to-policy gap and to connect policy-makers with research evidence.
