Elizabeth joined AFIDEP in June 2017 as a Grants Accountant where she provides effective support for programme implementation through proposal budgeting, management of grant contracts, monitoring and reporting on grant activities as well as supporting donor audits.
In her current role as the Acting Finance and Administration Manager, she provides leadership to the Finance and Administration teams in the Kenya and Malawi office as well as undertaking planning, budgeting, financial management and reporting for the organisation.
She holds an M.B.A in Global Business and Sustainability – Social Entrepreneurship from the Università Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy; a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa; a PRINCE2 Certificate from APMG International; a Certificate in French Level 1 from Alliance Française de Nairobi and is an ACCA Affiliate.
Elizabeth is a dynamic professional with 10 years’ practical experience in the promotion of sound financial, grant and project management systems in the pharmaceutical sector and in international development. Prior to joining AFIDEP, she worked at the Center for Agricultural Bioscience International (CABI) as the Finance Officer for the Plantwise Programme in Africa. She has also gained experience working as a Finance Officer at CARE International in Dadaab, and an Accounts Payable Accountant and Consumer Accountant both at GlaxoSmithKline East Africa.
Her career interests include Social entrepreneurship, FinTech, business development, and system innovation as well as capacity building on policies, systems, and processes.
Elizabeth received a 1st Place Award in the Community Service and Education Cluster during the MBA Sustainable Business Plan Competition in May 2013 for developing a research-based virtual business support company for SMEs in Kenya called Entravate Co. Limited. She also received the Above and Beyond Award from CABI in 2014 for supporting the finance department during the finance manager transition period and during the office relocation.
