Martin joined AFIDEP in June 2018. His current work entails developing effective finance and admin procedures, systems integration and processes flow to maximise programme impact, as well as financial management and monitoring.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from KCA University and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya CPA(K) with an active membership.
Previously, Martin worked for Action Africa Help-International as a Finance & Administration Officer where he was charged with ensuring continuous assessment of the organisation’s financial situation (including treasury) of the Kenya country office, i.e. efficiency of spend, cost-control, and analysis of budget deviations, putting in place contingency measures needed to respond to critical changes in the operating context, Finance training & coaching of department coordinators.
He has also worked with AMREF Health Africa – Kenya as Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programme accountant, as well as with Risk Solutions Insurance Brokers LTD as the Chief Finance Officer.
His career interests entail New Business Development, continuous quality improvement and organisational capacity assessment (OCA)
Martin successfully implemented and accounted for the AMREF Health Africa Drought Response Emergency Program – 2011, which had been funded by multiple donors to a tune of USD 6M within 6 months as the finance lead.
