Richard provides leadership in the formulation of strategic direction and also provides technical leadership in the planning, development, and evaluation of AFIDEP’s financial policies and systems, financial planning and budgeting, prudent management and control of financial resources, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
He holds an MBA (Finance) from Kenyatta University, a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Business Administration and Management & Marketing from Daystar University and is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya CPA (K) with an active membership.
Richard has had a distinguished career spanning over 18 years in Senior Management and leadership positions. He was previously an Associate Finance Director at World Vision Kenya and also worked with Lutheran World Relief (LWR) as a Regional Finance and Administration Manager overseeing South Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya, where he provided leadership in the allocation of resources, strengthening networks with the various partners and stakeholders across East Africa and building the financial capacity for the sub-grantees and local communities.
Prior to these senior roles, Richard served in various capacities at World Vision Kenya including, Assistant Accountant, Program Accountant, Assistant Regional Accountant, Regional Finance and Supply Chain Coordinator, Senior Accountant Reporting & Accounts Manager.
Richard is passionate about developing people and building networks and partnerships for greater impact, and his interests lie in business review & development, and system innovation, as well as capacity building on policies, systems, and processes.
