Kenya: AFIDEP Staff Announce Bursaries for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education Candidates

The AFIDEP Kenya Staff Charity Initiative is looking to award 15 bursaries towards school fees each worth KES 15,000 to top-performing students residing in Nairobi and looking to join form one in Kenyan public schools.

Priority will be given to students who meet the eligibility criteria below:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students who have qualified to join Secondary School but are completely unable to pay the fees required for enrolment.
  • Students who scored 300 marks and above.
  • Students with demonstrable need of inability to fund their own studies.
  • Must be a Kenyan

Application requirements

  • A complete application form: Application-form_AFIDEP-Secondary-School-Bursary.pdf
  • Provide accurate information in all the parts of the form
  • A letter explaining why you should get the bursary
  • Copies of: Birth Certificate, Results Slip, School Leaving Certificate, Secondary School Admission Letter, Fees Structure, and any other support document relevant to the application, and any documentation that demonstrates that you cannot afford to pay school fees to join secondary school (e.g. parents death certificates).

Deadline
Duly filled application must be submitted electronically (preferred) on or before 25 June 2021 to nairobisci@afidep.org. Applications can also be dropped off at the AFIDEP Nairobi office on weekdays between 0900-1600hrs EAT (Westcom Point Building, Mahiga Mairu Avenue, Block A, 6th Floor).

NB: Incomplete Bursary applications will not be considered for funding. Please note that giving of false information will lead to automatic disqualification.

We have few bursaries and so the selection process will be competitive. If you have not received any correspondence by 30 June 2021, please regard your application unsuccessful.
