The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) and the Population Reference Bureau (PRB) are hosting a Policy Fellows Training Workshop in Lilongwe, Malawi on 18-23 June 2018 at the Sunbird Lilongwe Hotel. The workshop targets PhD candidates from developing countries in their final year of doctoral studies, and the aim is to build their capacities, motivations and interests in engaging political leaders, government officials, and other decision-makers with their research evidence.

The panellists will share their experiences (including their motivations, strategies, successes, and challenges), and lessons from their work in engaging decision-makers with research evidence. The panellists will then engage in a “question and answer” discussion with the doctoral researchers. Ultimately, we hope this panel will provide inspiration for the doctoral researchers in knowledge translation and policy engagement. (Read more)
