Event Date: 21 Feb 2020
Event Location: Lilongwe, Malawi

AFIDEP is on 21 February 2020 launching the Heightening Institutional Capacity for Government Use of Health Research (HIGH-Res) project in Malawi.

The HIGH-Res project brings together various partners under the HIGH-Res East Africa Consortium to strengthen institutional capacity for use of health research in policy-making in Kenya, Malawi and Uganda. The Ministries of Health (Kenya, Malawi and Uganda), AFIDEP and partners will design, implement and evaluate innovative and politically responsive interventions that leverage and build on existing relationships and collaborations among the partners to maximise programme impact on building institutional capacity for evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM).

The overall aim of the project is to strengthen existing institutional systems, structures and processes within each country’s MoH, introduce new ones, while integrating individual capacity-building, to enable a sustained culture of evidence-informed decision-making.
