Teshome W. Admassu
Gender and Youth Integration Lead and Project Manager, East Africa Hub (BUILD)

Teshome W. Admassu joins AFIDEP’s BUILD project Gender and Youth Integration Lead and Project Manager, East Africa Hub, to be based in the Nairobi office.

Teshome holds a MSc (Economics) in Social Development Planning and Management from Swansea University, UK, and an MBA in Health Care Management from Columbia Southern University in the US.

He brings in over 18 years of experience in international health programming.

Prior to joining AFIDEP, Teshome worked as a freelance Consultant at LHD International Consult LLC, Silver Springs. He previously worked as a Senior Sexual and Reproductive Health, Gender, and Social Inclusion Advisor at the Women’s Refugee Commission, New York. He also worked as Senior Youth and Sexual and Reproductive Health Advisor at USAID in Washington, Program Associate at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation Sub-Sahara Office Ethiopia, a Youth and Gender Advisor at EngenderHealth Ethiopia and has done freelance Consulting for T.K. & Associates Consultancy PLC in Ethiopia. He has also worked as a Program Consultant for the German Foundation for World Population in Kenya, Program Manager for German Foundation for World Population Ethiopia and was an Executive Director at Save Your Generation Association (SYGA) in Ethiopia.

During his free time, Teshome enjoys reading books, spending time with family and friends, hiking, exploring local culture and cuisine, watching soccer, and volunteering for social causes.
